Symptomaticaccommodativeandbinoculardysfunctionsfromtheuseofflat-paneldisplays

摘要： AIM:Todeterminethepresenceofsymptomaticaccommodativeandnon-strabismicbinoculardysfunctions(ANSBD)inanon-presbyopicpopulationofvideodisplayunit(VDU)userswithflat-paneldisplays.METHODS:OnehundredandoneVDUusers,agedbetween20to34y,initiallyparticipatedinthestudy.Thisstudyexcludedcontact-lenswearersandsubjectswhohadundergonerefractivesurgeryorhadanysystemicoroculardisease.First,subjectswereaskedaboutthetypeandnatureofeyesymptomstheyexperiencedduringVDUuse.Then,athorougheyeexaminationexcludedthosesubjectswithasignificantuncorrectedrefractiveerrororotherproblem,suchasocularmotilitydisorders,verticaldeviation,strabismusandeyediseases.Finally,theremainingparticipantsunderwentanexhaustiveassessmentoftheiraccommodativeandbinocularvisionstatus.RESULTS:Eighty-nineVDUusers(46femalesand43males)wereincludedinthisstudy.Theyusedflat-paneldisplaysforanaverageof5±1.9haday.TwentysubjectspresentedANSBD(22.5%).Convergenceexcesswasthemostfrequentnon-strabismicbinoculardysfunction(9subjects),followedbyfusionalvergencedysfunction(3subjects)andconvergenceinsufficiency(2subjects).Withintheaccommodativedysfunctions,accommodativeexcesswasthemostcommon(4subjects),followedbyaccommodativeinsufficiency(2subjects).Moderatetosevereeyesymptomswerefoundin13subjectswithANSBD.CONCLUSION:SignificanteyesymptomsinVDUuserswithaccommodativeand/ornon-strabismicbinoculardysfunctionsoftenoccurandshouldnotbeunderestimated;therefore,anappropriateevaluationofaccommodativeandbinocularvisionstatusismoreimportantforthispopulation. ... （共5頁）
